OLD DOMINION: Shoe Shopping

Old Dominion has a new album “Happy Endings” up for pre-order now! The album will drop on August 25th, but you can get access to some new songs just by pre-ordering! Today (7/21) they released their song “Shoe Shopping” and it is such a great song. The song has a very bluesy feel to it that makes it enjoyable and easy to listen to.

“If you’re shoe shopping, walk a mile with me, slip a Cinderella slipper right on your feet, take my arm and strut down the street tonight … If you’re shoe shopping, try me on for size.”

Old Dominion uses a play on words to reference how finding someone to date is like going shoe shopping, you find things you like about them, things you dislike, you might use the shoes for a while, or you might throw them away, but you have to try them on to see how you like them.

I grew up in a small rural town in Ohio. I grew up on 90s country music with songs like Strawberry Wine and artists like Kenny Chesney playing on the radio. I grew up listening to only country music and to this day still do. If you ask anyone who knows me they will probably tell you, I am always at a show. People don’t typically ask what I have been doing, they typically ask “What was the last show you went to?” or “Who are you going to see next?”. My current favorites include Clark Manson and Drew Baldridge. There’s just something about knowing and believing in an artist and then watching people slowly fall in love with their music that will always attract me to this genre!
