ALBUM REVIEW: Easton Corbin “About To Get Real”

Five years ago Easton Corbin’s debut single, “A Little More Country Than That, climbed to the top of the charts. The song was on his self-titled debut album, along with a second #1, “Roll With It. In 2012, he released his second album, All Over The Road. Its title track was a Top Ten hit.

Staying true to his roots, Easton’s third album, About To Get Real, includes his most recent single, “Baby Be My Love Song“. It’s a Top 15 hit that has been on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs for the past 33 weeks. The song’s video shows a bartender romancing a young woman at Pinewood Social (a Nashville social club and restaurant). The Shaun Silva directed video has been viewed close to 2.5 million times on Vevo.

Success (About To Get Real sits at #5 on iTunes, a day after its June 30th release) hasn’t changed the Mercury Nashville artist.

“I have a lot of fans out there that tell me they appreciate me being true to who I am and keeping that traditional country flavor in there and I think that’s very important, ’cause that’s who I am. It really is.”

As Easton and producer Carson Chamberlain worked to finish the album, they decided to do one last check around for songs.

“We came across three songs called ‘Guys and Girls,’ ‘Diggin’ on You’ and ‘Yup’. I feel like these three songs really complete this record. So we took off three existing songs we had cut and replaced them with these three songs.”

From Track #1 “Kiss Me One More Time” through Track #12 “Like A Song“, fans will hear, pure and simple, today’s country music at its best – blending classic with modern.
