Meet The GCO Team!

Stefanie Richardson – CEO

I was born & raised in Orlando, but now call Tennessee home.  I grew up on country music and remember riding around in my dad’s truck singing along to Reba, The Judds, and of course, King George.  These days, I absolutely love following “up and coming” artists.  Cale Dodds is my favorite, and when he’s touring anywhere in the Southeast, I’m at his show.  I love everything about the genre; the way artists appreciate their fan base, the loyalty the fans have for their favorite performers, and how it all brings people together. I am so thankful for all of the amazing experiences and friendships I have because of Got Country!

Growing up in Boston, MA country music was something not many people listened to, but that didn’t stop me.  I created GotCountryOnline back in 2009 and look at it now!  I moved to Charleston SC in 2007 and for a short time worked on air at one of our local country radio stations.  Since then GotCountryOnline has been my main focus. Trying to think of new and creative ideas to make GotCountryOnline a fun and exciting site for our readers.  I am a proud mom to a two girl old little girl.  Country music in my eyes isn’t just music it is a lifestyle, a family, and I am happy to say a family I am proud to be a part of.

I have a deep appreciation for the songwriting community and making sure their story and message gets out there as well. I have developed lasting relationships in this industry and am so inspired by the stories I get to bring to music fans. When I am not covering a music event or writing you will find me doing something fun with my friends and family. My husband of 10 years is an ED nurse and we have 2 beautiful and spunky daughters that keep me pretty busy. We live 4 miles from the beach in Florida so I try to soak that up whenever I can. I also make time with my friends every single week usually involving wine, mimosa and some crazy story. I love laughing…even at my own expense, am a self proclaimed Facebook addict, and embrace life fully. Looking forward to taking this journey with you….

KH Head Shot             Kelly Hettenbaugh – Virginia Contributor & Senior Editor

Growing up in upstate New York, I was the one hanging with the boys hunting and fishing that the country songs talk about. Driving the back roads to my grandparent’s house in the southern tier, I used to belt out Trisha Yearwood’s “She’s In Love With a Boy,” desperately wanting to be Katie and find my Tommy. I thought my parents turned it up because they knew I liked it.. I’ve since realized it was probably to drown out my less than stellar singing voice. Although a lot has changed since then, my love for country music has stayed with me. I now live in SW Florida and my interest lies more in the up and coming acts, and songwriters than it does the larger acts that are already successful. I love being the first to discover someone and watch their career grow as they find their way in today’s crazy country music world. Working five days a week- my weekends are spent at a show, doing something active outdoors, or catching up with friends. My vacations usually revolve around music festivals or visiting my family back in NY 🙂

kristinKristin Whyte – New Jersey Contributor & Content Coordinator

There was no specific event that made me fall in love with country music, it was simply the style that hit me the hardest. I’ve been involved with music from a young age and it has helped get to where I am today. I graduated Albright College with a degree in Music Business and currently work in New York City with Music Licensing. When I’m not working with music, you can find me listening to it, watching it, or playing it. I consider myself lucky when I look back at the various concerts I’ve attended, from classics such as Brooks & Dunn and George Strait, to the incredible new talents of Eric Church and The Band Perry. It only makes me want more. Music is something I can always count on and I’m excited to have the opportunity to share this love with all of you!

Danielle Mercer – South Carolina Contributor
Born and raised in the small southern town of Summerville, South Carolina I was given deep roots in country music as the radio dial was always turned to 103.5 WEZL. My friends have coined me the Country Music Fairy since they have yet to be let down when coming to me for music suggestions. As a former state champion percussionist I live and breathe music, silence is not welcome in my life as there is constantly an iPod or radio playing. My current focus is promoting the singer/songwriters and new & upcoming artists. My top three favorites are Andy Velo, Dylan Scott, and Mitchell Lee (Wetherington). During the day you can find me at the front desk of Charleston’s #1 real estate company, and at night running the marketing for my husband’s remodeling business Heart Pine Homes while renovating our home. I like to spend what little free time I have with my furbaby Jake, perusing the antique stores, exercising my 2nd Amendment right, or out in the woods deer hunting.

                          Christine Tully – Ohio Contributor

I grew up in a small rural town in Ohio. I grew up on 90s country music with songs like Strawberry Wine and artists like Kenny Chesney playing on the radio. I grew up listening to only country music and to this day still do. If you ask anyone who knows me they will probably tell you, I am always at a show. People don’t typically ask what I have been doing, they typically ask “What was the last show you went to?” or “Who are you going to see next?”. My current favorites include Clark Manson and Drew Baldridge. There’s just something about knowing and believing in an artist and then watching people slowly fall in love with their music that will always attract me to this genre!
