Cumulus and WestwoodOne Partner with the Academy of Country Music to Offer Exclusive Content from Events Around the 49th Annual ACM Awards®

The Academy of Country Music® and dick clark productions, partnering with Cumulus and WestwoodOne, announce they will provide exclusive backstage audio coverage from the WestwoodOne Backstage at the ACM Awards Radio Row for two days leading up to the 49th Annual ACM Awards held on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and airing LIVE 8pm ET/PT on CBS.  The day prior to the ceremony, Lon Helton, host of the WestwoodOne-syndicated Country Countdown USA, will be honored with his third ACM “National Radio Personality of the Year” Award. He was also honored in 2008 and 2011.

 

Backstage at the ACM Awards will offer candid interviews with A-list superstars of Country Music and other special programming to more than 30 radio stations from across the U.S.  Backstage at the ACM Awards will be held in the Studio Ballroom of the MGM Grand on Friday, April 4th from 12 noon-4 pm PST and Saturday, April 5th from 10 am-4 pm PST.  WestwoodOne’s Backstage at the ACM Awards Radio Row sponsors include Grainger, JCPenney and Jesse James Bourbon.

 

 On Sunday, April 6, at 5:00 pm ET, WestwoodOne will present a two-hour red carpet special and a one-hour nomination special for radio stations across the country and their listeners. The special programs will be hosted by Country Music artist Kix Brooks and Suzanne Alexander, Kix’s new co-host for the syndicated radio show, “American Country Countdown.”  Video content will be produced for station websites, along with a JCPenney’s Photo Booth.  Confirmed participants include Tyler Farr, Kellie Pickler, Kacey Musgraves, Austin Webb, Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, and Big & Rich, among many others.
