What better place to celebrate two girls achieving their dream than Walt Disney World? The three-time CMA nominated duo performed at Epcot to celebrate the album Start Here. On Monday, September 7th, Maddie and Tae played 3 – 30 minute sets at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. The girls met fans who had won a trip to Disney to meet the girls from Radio Disney, Taste Of Country, Cumulous Media, and their online community. The duo sang songs off their new album, and had the crowd dancing on their feet while they sang songs including “Shut Up And Fish,” “Sierra,” their #1 PLATINUM-selling smash “Girl In A Country Song“, their current Top 10 single “Fly” and even covered Rihanna‘s “Umbrella“.
The three-time CMA nominated duo exceeded expectations when it was announced they debuted at #7 on Billboard’s All-Genre Top 200 Albums and as one of only two Country acts in the Top 10. Selling nearly 28,000 copies in the first week, newcomers Maddie & Tae stand strong with one of the biggest Country debuts of 2015. The pair graciously thanked their fans for supporting – and picking up –START HERE during their special performance at Epcot.
“We could not be happier,” exclaimed Maddie to the crowd. “It is beyond our wildest dreams and we are so thankful to all of the fans that have supported us. We would not be celebrating these milestones or memories without you.”
Continued Tae, “Maddie and I have been on this journey together since we were 15 years old. It feels like we have been keeping this giant secret that we can now share with the world!”
In partnership with Radio Disney Country, which launches November 4, 2015, Maddie & Tae also visited the 11 Pavilions of Epcot at Walt Disney World Resorts on Tuesday with one lucky grand prize winner who got to tag along and experienced all of the excitement as a park VIP. The group enjoyed all of the highlights of the countries including eating caramel apples in Germany, getting henna tattoos in Morocco, lunching in Italy, trying on kimonos in Japan, eating macaroons in France and getting family crests in the UK.
“Disney World is the happiest place on earth and we are so excited to be here with our fans,” exclaimed Maddie.
“This is such a magical place,” added Tae “and there is no where else we would rather celebrate!”
The duo will be wrapping up Dierks Bentley’s SOUNDS OF SUMMER TOUR next month before embarking on their first headline dates on the START HERE TOUR October 7 at the Highline Ballroom in New York City.
