SINGLE REVIEW: Cassadee Pope “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart”

I Wish I Could Break Your Heart” is the second single from Cassadee Pope’s studio album Frame by Frame.

Her first single, “Wasting All These Tears“, was a breakthrough hit for the season three winner of NBC’s The Voice (her coach was Blake Shelton) “And you left me Standing on a corner crying, Feeling like a fool for trying I don’t even remember Why I’m wasting all these tears on you”

Her follow-up single (radio impact date March 17) makes it apparent that in actuality those tears weren’t wasted. Instead they opened the door to her future.

With strong, straight shooting vocals, she lets Mr. Ex know exactly what she hopes Karma will deliver to his doorstep.

“I wish I could break your heart

I wish I could bring you down

Just for a second,

Teach you a lesson,

About being alone in the dark,

I wish I could make you cry,

So hard you can barely breath

Maybe you just might know what it feels like to be me”

It could’ve been just another ‘you did me wrong’ song. However, the Republic Nashville artist delivers with such emotional clarity that it brings closure to her post breakup pain.

The song was co-written by Ashley Monroe, Gordon Francis Sampson and Jon Green and produced by Dann Huff.

The single is currently available for download HERE.

  1. WATT was a great song but, I wish I could break your heart is absolutely horrible!!!! It feels like thru the video she wants to be another Taylor. I for one won’t buy this song and if it comes on the radio, we’ll I will change the station.
