SINGLE REVIEW: Gwen Sebastian “Small Town Soul”

Two is becoming a very lucky number for Gwen Sebastian. Two years ago she was a contestant on NBC’s The Voice Season 2. There she met two fellow contestants, Hailey Steele and Nicolle Galyon. Hailey and Nicolle combined their songwriting talents to pen Gwen’s latest single “Small Town Soul” (Flying Island Entertainment).

Now this song (currently playing on SiriusXM The Highway) could be Gwen’s second trip to #1 on the charts this year. Blake Shelton (her coach on The Voice) topped the charts with “My Eyes” – which featured, yep, Gwen. Too much you say?

The two songwriters grew up in small towns – Hailey in Madison, South Dakota (population est. 6,800), and Nicolle in Sterling, Kansas (population est. 2,300). Gwen was raised in Hebron, North Dakota (population est. 700). These ladies understand growing up in a small town.

“there’s no forgetting my humble beginnings;

where I’m going, God only knows.

I leave a little piece of me everywhere I go.

Pretty lights, city signs, and a skyline glow,

but you can’t take the small town from the small town soul…”

Gwen’s vocals reach new heights when combined with the song’s recently released video. You can watch it below, the single is available for download HERE via Amazon and iTunes.
