SINGLE REVIEW: Rich O’Toole “God & George Strait

Aside from being the newest single from Texas Country singer Rich O’Toole, “God & George Strait” is honest, good music. With his powerful story telling abilities, he has our attention from the first chords to the final words.

“Back in the day I thought I knew everything,

Was too cool for Jesus, I didn’t bow to the king.

When I hit Rock Bottom, figured out where I went wrong

Yeah I need a little prayer, and the chill of an early fall”

Rich O’Toole has a history of inspiring lyrics, summer anthems, and vulnerable love songs, but “God & George Strait” brings out a different side, a side that is only proof of his growth as an artist. While the title is straight forward, it is the message that goes much deeper, and it is relatable to all of us.

So take a long listen, maybe a few, and reflect on where “God & George Strait” belongs in in your life.

There was no specific event that made me fall in love with country music, it was simply the style that hit me the hardest. I’ve been involved with music from a young age and it has helped get to where I am today. I graduated Albright College with a degree in Music Business and currently work in New York City with Music Licensing. When I’m not working with music, you can find me listening to it, watching it, or playing it. I consider myself lucky when I look back at the various concerts I’ve attended, from classics such as Brooks & Dunn and George Strait, to the incredible new talents of Eric Church and The Band Perry. It only makes me want more. Music is something I can always count on and I’m excited to have the opportunity to share this love with all of you!
