SINGLE REVIEW: Ryan Robinette “For Awhile”

Here at GotCountry? Singer songwriter Ryan Robinette has not only been on our artist radar for a while now, but has become a good friend of ours; and we couldn’t be any more proud. The Southeastern Ohio native turned Orlando, FL local has steadily made his impression on the up and coming country music scene. If you aren’t one of the 30k+ followers on social media… chances are you are missing out.

Coming off of a recent stint of songwriter’s festivals and contests, as well as opening for Tyler Rich in California, Ryan comes out strong with his single “For Awhile.”  I had a chance to hear this song fill the The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon in Fort Myers, FL after a LoCash show.. and let me tell you— this sounds GOOD coming through your speakers!

With a strong guitar intro, Ryan’s vocals come in as smooth as the mood he sets from the very first verse…

“Girl ya never looked better than you do in that black dress
I can’t stop my eyes from ridin’ the lines of your silhouette
And that sunset sinkin’ down lows got me thinkin’ what we both know, we both know
That the bedroom’s callin’ our name up the hall and we both know, where it’s gonna go yeah”

The mood quickly seduces you with his descriptive lyrics in the chorus..

“Your body, on mine, red painted nails runnin’ up my spine and
Your hair, dropped down, you’re rocking my flannel while we’re foolin’ around and
We’ll blame it on the red wine if ya wanna, take it nice and slow you yeah know we’re gonna
Pull those shades down tight, make it last all night, girl we’re gonna be here for awhile”

The listener is drawn in by the second verse, and I guarantee if you’re on the dance floor you’ll be pulling someone just a little closer..

“That pretty little lipbite half smile lookin’ so reckless
With your eyes locked on mine, between you and I there’s no secrets
Aint a thought that we’re gonna have to hold back baby when you let it go, just let it go
Ain’t gotta stop that teasin’ yeah we got all evenin’ and we both know, where it’s gonna go yeah”

Robinette found a way to keep this song upbeat and seductive at the same time. Perfect for keeping things cool in these upcoming hot summer nights. Go grab a glass of wine, sit back and turn this song up! You’re gonna be here for a while.

“And we’ll blame it on the red wine if ya wanna, take it nice and slow yeah you know we’re gonna pull those shades down tight, make it last all night, girl we’re gonna be here for awhile”

If you have been following Ryan, you’re with us on the fact that as an artist he continues to grow with every project he does! We are excited to see where the future takes him!

About Kelly Hettenbaugh

Kelly Hettenbaugh
Growing up in upstate New York, I was the one hanging with the boys hunting and fishing that the country songs talk about. Driving the back roads to my grandparent’s house in the southern tier, I used to belt out Trisha Yearwood’s “She’s In Love With a Boy,” desperately wanting to be Katie and find my Tommy. I thought my parents turned it up because they knew I liked it.. I’ve since realized it was probably to drown out my less than stellar singing voice. Although a lot has changed since then, my love for country music has stayed with me. I now live in SW Florida and my interest lies more in the up and coming acts, and songwriters than it does the larger acts that are already successful. I love being the first to discover someone and watch their career grow as they find their way in today’s crazy country music world. Working five days a week- my weekends are spent at a show, doing something active outdoors, or catching up with friends. Since I get to enjoy FL everyday, my vacations usually revolve around music festivals or visiting my family back in NY :)
