CONCERT REVIEW: Seth Ennis – Valdosta, Georgia

About a week ago, Bluewater Bar in Valdosta, Georgia announced that hometown star Seth Ennis would be returning home for a show.  I immediately texted my girlfriends and asked who would go with me.  I have known Seth for a little over a year, and he has become one of my favorite artists.  This was one show I didn’t want to miss.

Valdosta did not disappoint and showed up to support their boy.  Bluewater is a smaller venue, but it was absolutely packed.  Seth and his band took the stage much to the delight of everyone in the room.  They played a mixture of Seth’s original songs, covered country hits, threw in an old school pop medley, and included some Justin Bieber.  If you’ve been to a Seth Ennis show, you know that Bieber’s “Love Yourself” always works its way into the set list.  Among the covers was Tyler Farr’s single “Our Town,” which Seth co-wrote.  He told the crowd that he wrote “Our Town” with his hometown of Valdosta in mind.

The absolute best part of the night came when Seth played his hit “Woke Up In Nashville.”  He explained that he’s played many shows at Bluewater, it was even the first bar in which he ever played.   This show was different though…  It was the first time he played at Bluewater while having a song on the radio.   When Seth got to the chorus, I’m pretty sure every person in the venue sang along.  He stopped singing for a moment, and simply listened to the crowd as his smile lit up the room.  I’ll admit I teared up at that very moment.  Hearing a crowd sing a song back to the artist is amazing; especially when it’s their debut single while it’s still being added to radio stations.  Seth ended “Woke Up In Nashville” by wiping his own eyes…  It was a special moment that I’ll never forget.

Seth has had a lot of success come his way since I saw him last.  He is still the same humble person.  He even took a moment during the show to thank me for driving up from Orlando.  I don’t bring that up to brag, but to show he is genuinely thankful; and that, I love.  Seth has a lot of amazing things coming up very soon!  He will be featured in our Valentine’s Day “Artists We Love” article – check it out to get all of the details.
