October Rose “Heartbreak Song”

We all crave a good break up song, yet the last thing we want is for that song to be about us. New country music duo October Rose captures the feeling we know all too well in their first single “Heartbreak Song”.

Had me stoned, so high, we were living it up in the dead of the night.

There was fire, in our eyes, burning me out with every kiss goodbye,

Now I, Don’t want to lose my edge, cuz you,

Already got a song in your head.

It is impossible to not give this piece your undivided attention. Aside from the gripping intro, to us listeners, the thoughts from two separate minds have never felt more together.

I don’t know where this will go,

But in my heart it’s enough to know, That I

Don’t want you to be that guy,

Another subject of a melody that I write

The reality is, we all have that song queued up to be played, or on the tip of our pencil, but we are always hoping that our love story will go a little something like this instead.

We can be a hands in the air, sing along,

Sweet summer sweat, turn me on,

I want to be the upbeat in your headphones.”

We can be an up all night,

All alone, tears on the page don’t write me off,

I don’t wanna be the right words said all wrong,

I don’t wanna be a heartbreak song.

A well-written country song keeps us engaged, is unpredictable, and leaves us in a whirlwind of emotions, and October Rose does just that. We can expect to hear more from this new duo of Leanne Weiss and Derek Allan in 2018, when they release their debut EP “All In”.
