SINGLE REVIEW: Ashliegh Lisset “Goodbye”

Putting the good in bye is Ashliegh Lisset with her upcoming single “Goodbye”.

“Maybe it was never love

Baby even if it was

You’d think that it would hurt enough to cry

I never thought I’d watch you leavin

I wonder why it felt so easy

Baby maybe that’s the reason why

It was a goodbye”

Best-case scenario when a relationship ends is having your heart and head in sync as you move forward – exactly where this ‘upbeat’ goodbye and Ashliegh’s strong vocals take us.

“I heard they said that every ending

Is really just a new beginning

It’s always gonna be worth going through

And I’m all right without you

Cause hindsight is a clear view

And it didn’t hurt at all like I thought it was supposed to…no”

Ashliegh on why she chose this song to be her lead single from her upcoming EP, “It was a good, goodbye is that moment after a break-up when you realize WOW- he really wasn’t the best for me and ending the relationship was the best thing that ever happened. I love that Goodbye isn’t the typical sad break-up song!”

“Goodbye” will be officially released to digital markets this Friday, Nov. 4, with radio release scheduled for Dec. but Got Country fans get to hear it here first.

Sadly, Ashliegh has also experienced the most painful of goodbyes. Almost ten years ago her world changed in an instant when her father, Sgt. Paul T. Sanchez, died while serving his second tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom. “My dad w

as a passionate soldier, and he died doing something he believed in. In a sense… that’s how I feel about my music.” Hear Ashliegh tell her story here:

To honor her father, Ashliegh will donate twenty percent of Goodbye’s sales to a child of a fallen or wounded soldier.

Just days before her father died, he suggested the then 12-year-old record Carrie Underwood’s Don’t Forget To Remember Me. Ashliegh did record Kill The Headlights, a Carrie co-write. The song was her debut single. It is about a couple needing the darkness of the moonlight to show their true feelings for each other. Sparks fly in the lyrics and from her passionate, rich vocals that drive home the message to live in the moment. The single charted in the Top 30 Hot New Country on Sirius XM for 8 weeks and was featured as a Highway Find. Listen to the song here:

Ashleigh is an ambassador for The Folds of Honor Foundation. Through scholarships and other assistance, the Foundation gives back to the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in service to our country. She will perform with fellow country artists Jerrod Niemann, Tyler Farr, and Brett Young on Nov. 1 at a Folds of Honor VIP Reception fundraising event at The Boundry in Nashville. The Boundry will host the CMS Songwriter of the Year after the Folds of Honor event.
