SINGLE REVIEW: Maddie & Tae “Girl In A Country Song”

With all due respect to Luke Bryan’s hit song, “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)“, a new ‘shaker’ song is about to rock radio airwaves. Maddie & Tae’s debut single, “Girl In A Country Song“, ‘shakes’ it from a woman’s perspective. And they shake it well, as their sound is fresh, upbeat, and very catchy ☺.

“Well shakin’ my money maker ain’t never made me a dime

And there ain’t no sugar for you in this shaker of mine

Tell me one more time you gotta getcha some of that

Sure I’ll slide on over but you’re gonna get slapped”

Maddie & Tae are the first act to sign with Tennessee label Dot Records. Big Machine Label Group recently revived the label that had closed down in 1978, after 28 years in business (Pat Boone, Eddie Fisher, Roy Clark, and others).

Maddie (Sugar Land, Texas native Maddie Marlow) and Tae (Ada, Oklahoma native Tae Dye) bring a unique sound, one influenced by Shania Twain, Loretta Lynn, and Lee Ann Womack, to their single. The duo co-wrote the song, a mix of new and old, coy and sassy, with Aaron Scherz. It will impact radio July 21.
