SINGLE REVIEW: Rascal Flatts: “Rewind”

Rascal Flatts have had a successful career in country music for over a decade. Their last album, Changed, was released in 2012. Fans that were eager for new music need wait no more. Their new single, “Rewind,” which was written by Chris DeStefano, Ashley Gorley and Eric Paslay, premiered on country radio January 8th.

“Rewind” sounds like….a Rascal Flatts’ song, and one that longtime fans will surely love. The guitar riff introduction didn’t excite me, but the melody and hook are very catchy. As always, Gary LeVox’s vocals are strong, as are the trio’s harmonies. The song tells the romantic story of a night where everything is “so good, so right” that he wishes he “could rewind” and experience it again.

“Wish I could reach up and reset that sun

Reverse these wheels go back and repick you up

It went by so fast, oh so sweet, make me wanna remake a memory

Wish I had me a time machine”

The group will release a new album in June. “Rewind” will be available for download on January 21.  In the meantime take a listen to the single below and let us know what you think.
