For me there’s just something about Christmas. Whether it’s putting up the Christmas tree and decorating it with its garland, ornaments, and strands of lights, or going out to find the perfect gift for that someone special on your list. There’s something about Christmas that makes your heart overwhelmed with love and happiness, it’s such a joyous time of year, celebrating the reason for the season with your loved ones celebrating and appreciating life. It makes it extra special no matter where you spend it and whether your climate is warm or cold, whether you’re bundled up and cozy by the fire drinking hot cocoa or your choice of adult beverage (maybe Blue Chair Bay rum?) while watching the snow fall outside your window, or while you’re on the beach somewhere spending a Christmas in a Kenny Chesney island life kind of way. We haven’t heard a Christmas tune from Chesney since he released ‘All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan,’ in 2003. I’m so glad he’s back with a new one that spreads Christmas cheer to all who care to hear.
The best part of this one is that it brings forth the reality of Kenny’s love for the islands which is embraced in this single, “Christmas in Blue Chair Bay.” I’ve always had a love for an acoustic song and it’s laid back kind of style and feel. I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate Christmas with a simple, slow, and sweet reminder to kick back, and enjoy each moment with your loved ones that surround you. There’s no going wrong with a Kenny Chesney song, and this one is no exception.
