SINGLE REVIEW: Mitch Goudy “Ain’t My Fault”

After watching the Billboard Music Awards and thoroughly enjoying all things country, it was a pleasure to review Mitch Goudy who hails from the cornfields of SE Iowa. This 19 year old newcomer, who was voted by CMA as ‘Who New to Watch in 2014,’ reminds me why I love the genre.

Mitch has shared the stage with the likes of Rodney Atkins, The Oak Ridge Boys and Joe Nichols. His reputation for being fun and melding together the sounds of traditional and contemporary country makes him perfect for radio playlists. This is pretty evident with the release of his single “Ain’t My Fault“.

Ain’t My Fault” opens with some fine instrumentation and Mitch’s clean vocals. This is definitely a sing-a-long single that will bring the young girls on board without alienating the guys. The single is light, melodic, easy listening. You can hear that there is some rowdiness in this guy’s voice which will make you wanna check out more of his music to hear the different sides of him, vocally. Makes perfect sense that his fans are the #rowdies. It has also been noted that he might just give Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery a run for their money…he’s got the looks and he’s got country.  “Ain’t My Fault” has a catchy chorus and is a sweet song about the guy who is so head over heels in love that he cant be accountable for how he feels.

Always running late
Can’t concentrate
Let me set this straight
It Ain’t My Fault
Girl you got that groove
To make me fall
But it’s worth the view
You’re the melody that moves through me

“If Mitch Goudy comes to your hometown, you gotta go see this guy…He is gonna rip the stage of!” said Captain Jack, Renegade Radio Nashville
