Austin is making his debut count with the release of his first single “Way Too Much” which is premiering exclusively with Got Country today ahead of the full release tomorrow, Friday, December 1. In the breakup tune, Austin highlights his catchy songwriting and pop-infused sound. Listen to the brand-new song below!

Though inspired by heartache, Austin finds a way to make the hurt fade with an uptempo and catchy melody. “‘Way Too Much’ is about a past relationship of mine that ended up going south,” Austin shared with us. “There were a few months after the break-up where every time I went out I found myself at last call still hung up on the past. That time of my life influenced this song heavily. I know a lot of other people know this feeling all too well, so I wanted to write this to say I’ve been there too.”

Austin’s ability to share universal messages has earned him quick friends in Nashville writing rooms since he moved to the city in 2017.  With an alt-pop country sound that he has described as “Machine Gun Kelly meets Morgan Wallen”, the Kentucky native who is signed to Round Hill Music Publishing is forging his own niche within the country genre.

Inspired early on by the radio, Austin took every chance he could to join church choir and theater throughout school. Encouraged by his High School choir teacher, he focused on performing over baseball as he headed to college at Murray State. Moving to Nashville in 2017, he gained success as half of the duo SixForty1 — opening for the likes of Brantley Gilbert, Eli Young Band, Michael Ray, Walker Hayes, Muscadine Bloodline and garnering millions of streams. Now, with the release of “Way Too Much” Austin is leading the way for his debut EP in the coming year with his longtime producer Matt Geroux.

Keep up with Austin on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for more and be sure to presave “Way Too Much” available everywhere tomorrow.
